SaferFood Diary for iOS and Android · Last updated 11 July 2026
The short version: we don't collect, see, store or sell any of your data. Your records live on your device (and, on iPhone and iPad, in your own iCloud account). There are no accounts, no analytics, no trackers and no servers of ours involved.
Everything you enter in SaferFood Diary — diary entries, check results, signatures, reviews, staff training records, suppliers, contacts and cleaning schedules — is stored in a database on your device.
On iPhone and iPad: if you are signed in to iCloud, Apple's CloudKit service syncs that database to your private iCloud database so your records appear on your other devices and survive the loss of a device. This is a private area of iCloud that only your Apple ID can access; the developer of SaferFood Diary has no ability to read it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy. If you are not signed in to iCloud, everything simply stays on the device.
On Android: everything stays on the device — there is no cross-device sync. Android's own backup service may include the app's data in the device backup held in your own Google account, like any other app on your phone; that backup belongs to you and is described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can also create a backup file yourself from Settings — where you keep or send that file is entirely under your control.
Nothing. The app has no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics SDKs, no advertising and no crash-reporting services. It makes no network connections to any service operated by us — we don't operate any servers.
Purchases — the one-time unlock and the optional Multi-site add-on — are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (on iOS) or by Google through Google Play (on Android). We never see your payment details. Apple or Google provides the app with an anonymous receipt used only to confirm your purchases.
Reminders for your daily checks and 4-weekly review are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification service is involved and nothing leaves the device.
When you export your records as a PDF, the file is generated on your device. Where you send it (email, sharing, printing, saving to files) is entirely under your control.
Before the app launched, saferfood.app had a "notify me" form. If you signed up, we hold that address (via our form provider, Formspree) solely to email you about the app's launch — nothing else, and it is never shared. The form has since been removed and no new addresses are collected. You can ask for your address to be deleted at any time by emailing hello@saferfood.app. This applies to the website only — the app itself collects nothing.
SaferFood Diary is a business tool intended for adults running food businesses and is not directed at children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
SaferFood Diary is operated by Willie Tech Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 15837598.
