SaferFood Diary for iOS · Last updated 11 June 2026
The short version: we don't collect, see, store or sell any of your data. Your records live on your device and in your own iCloud account. There are no accounts, no analytics, no trackers and no servers of ours involved.
Everything you enter in SaferFood Diary — diary entries, check results, signatures, reviews, staff training records, suppliers, contacts and cleaning schedules — is stored in a database on your device.
If you are signed in to iCloud, Apple's CloudKit service syncs that database to your private iCloud database so your records appear on your other devices and survive the loss of a device. This is a private area of iCloud that only your Apple ID can access; the developer of SaferFood Diary has no ability to read it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, everything simply stays on the device.
Nothing. The app has no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics SDKs, no advertising and no crash-reporting services. It makes no network connections to any service operated by us — we don't operate any servers.
The one-time unlock purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides the app with an anonymous receipt used only to confirm the purchase on your devices.
Reminders for your daily checks and 4-weekly review are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification service is involved and nothing leaves the device.
When you export your records as a PDF, the file is generated on your device. Where you send it (email, AirDrop, printing, Files) is entirely under your control.
If you enter your email address in the "notify me" form on saferfood.app, we store that address (via our form provider, Formspree) solely to email you when the app launches. We won't use it for anything else or share it, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time by emailing hello@saferfood.app. This applies to the website only — the app itself collects nothing.
SaferFood Diary is a business tool intended for adults running food businesses and is not directed at children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
